Self Esteem

Self Esteem is the global perception of the self. It is immutable,
meaning it is a construct of itself and is not readily controllable
or manipulatable directly.

Bandura, Maslow, and others talk about the concepts of
self-confidence and/or self-efficacy which are interchangeable
terms. Whereas self-esteem is the global perception of self,
self-confidence is the domain-specific perception of self. To
increase your self-esteem you must work on your self-confidence.
Nine ways to improve self-confidence form the article:
1. Stand or sit in a posture of confidence
2. Practice Presence (mindfulness/being in the moment)
3. Build your capacity for energy (reframe nervous jitters as excitement for what is to come)
4. Exercise regularly
5. Visualize: imagine confidence
6. Give yourself permission to be in the process (take risks and make mistakes)
7. Clarify your goals8. Speak well of yourself9. Ask for help and offer help to others
